I had always been quite lucky with my hair, in that it was long and in quite good condition. That was until one rainy Sunday when I was about 18 that I decided I wanted to be a ‘blonde bombshell’. My hair eventually ended up dry, thin and refused to grow. I found myself heartbroken wondering WHY ME, even though it's pretty much common knowledge that if you bleach you're hair, it aint' going to be the healthiest.
It took me a good 2-3 years to get it back to a stage where I am now happy with it length and condition wise, and after trying and failing with so many products, I want to share those products that I have found to have helped the most with getting my hair back to a good condition.
The first I’m sure is no secret to most people; Coconut Oil . I must admit, I wasn't sold when I first heard about this, however it works a treat! The first time I used it, the effects of it lasted 3-4 washes! It’s an inexpensive natural hair mask, and I honestly can’t see myself ever buying high end alternatives again. I just coat my hair in it at night, shove it up in a bun and then wash it out in the morning, and honestly my hair feels so soft after doing this treatment. I can’t recommend it enough.
OZ BOTANICS HEAT DEFENCE
The second product I have been using and loving is the leave in conditioner by OZ Botanics . I saw this recommended by Lydia Millen, and since her hair is serious #goals I thought I must give this a go. It did not disappoint, it’s really light on your hair, smells amazing and again is very inexpensive.
OI SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER
The final part of the recipe is something that I’ve only been using for a couple of months, but I have already noticed a difference. It's the OI shampoo and conditioner. I am so impressed, especially with the Conditioner ; It’s really thick in consistency and feels really luxury when you apply it, and using this alongside the coconut oil really does make for such smooth ends and a nice finish without even styling your hair.
Styling my hair is never something that I have been great at, at the age of 22 I’ve only JUST learnt how to do a French plait. However I do feel like when you’ve got healthy hair, styling it becomes a lot easier and more enjoyable and it’s thanks to some of these products that I am now able to style my hair in ways that I couldn’t before.
Do you have any hair care products you can recommend? Let me know!
