Yesterday marked a special day for me, as it was my first ever bloggers event. I didn't really know what to expect, but I was so excited about it and honestly loved every minute of it.
Having planned to go to this event knowing literally no one, alongside my excitement I was feeling really nervous and apprehensive about the whole day. Although this feeling didn't last long once I met some of the loveliest bloggers ever at the train station. They made me feel so welcome, were so friendly and honestly made the day so enjoyable for me. They even got me posing for 'outfit photos' at one point, but put it this way, I was about as awkward having my photo taken as Bambi on ice, but there was comedy value in me trying!
People are not lying when you read or hear that 'bloggers are the friendliest people ever', because in my experience, they really are. Everyone at the event was full of smiles, conversation and just general happiness. There was such a great feeling of a community among everyone there, which I was so honored and proud to have been a part of.
This event itself was really well run and was a great opportunity to meet lots of brands that I hadn’t heard of before, and I must say there were some really cool and quirky brands there. I mean I got to taste fennel chocolate, lust over Moschino handbags and reminisce at the ‘So…?’ counter. (We all remember So…Kiss Me? from back in the day right?!).
From make-up, to fashion to food. There was something there for everyone. I met with some amazing brands, which I hope to do some feature blog posts on over the next few weeks once I've had chance to try their products out.
What I Wore
Having not attended an event like this before, I literally had no idea what to wear. In the end I opted for a jumpsuit as I thought it would be something I'd be comfortable in. I then just added some simple accessories to dress it up. In hindsight, as I sit here nursing my poorly feet, I probably should have avoided heels, but I know for a fact I will make that mistake again. I personally think heels just do something for a 5ft1 girl that flats can't.
So that's it. My first blogger event done. I've made some new friends, came away with some exciting products to try and learnt so much about the blogging community, all in just one day. I already can't wait for the next one!
