When I first used this product I immediately noticed how soft it made my skin. I was really impressed and I thought, I get it, this stuff is amazing. I continued to use it morning and night for about a month, however I noticed that after a while my foundation started going on a bit cakey and uneven. Baring in mind I have been using the same foundations for years with no problems, I knew it was going to be part of my skincare routine which was tripping it up. After much investigation I found it was the Glow Tonic that was making this happen, and here's why...
It contains glycolic acid, which essentially does wonders for exfoliating your skin in a much more gentle way than a scrub could, which makes you skin SO soft. However, what this can also do is dehydrate your skin if it's not followed by something hydrating. Using the Glow Tonic in the morning didn't give my skin chance to rehydrate before putting on my foundation = big mistake.
I've now gone back to using the Glow Tonic just in the evenings and it's doing wonders for my skin. It's really softening, brightening and whenever I use this my skin has a really healthy glow to it when I wake up in the morning. Also using it just in the evening also means that it lasts longer = WIN!
So, is the Pixi Glow Tonic worth the hype? Absolutely Yes. However I would advise making sure you've got a good oil or moisturiser to slap on afterwards to make sure you get the most out of it.
Have you tried the Glow Tonic before? What did you think?
