Budget beauty - H&M Beauty Picks

Rightly or wrongly, I've never been one for buying beauty products from fashion retailers. I have just always been under the impression that there is no way they are going to be any good, I thought they were just a novelty quick till purchase that would waste away in the bottom of your handbag. How wrong was I.

My local H&M has a big beauty section in it now, which I quickly found myself pondering in. I picked up one of their eye pencils not expecting anything and swatched it. WOW. They are so pigmented, I thought it was a fluke so I decided to swatch more, and more and more. My hands ended up looking like they belong to a mermaid.

They have an amazing range of colours too, from stunning metalics to bold colours. My personal favourites are the metalic shades. I couldn't resist getting some of them, so obviously I did, and here is what I thought...

Molten Eye Pen
I got this in the rose gold colour and I have been so impressed with it. It's great for a quick and simple eye look. I've just been putting it all over my eye lid and then blending it out into my crease with a fluffy blending brush. It's also really pigmented, and lasts all day long - win!

All Things Precious Eye Quad
For only £7.99 this little eyeshadow quad is amazing. It's got a beautiful selection of colours which blend really easily. I have to admit that the colours aren't as pigmented as when you test them on your finger, but don't get me wrong, they are still good and can easily be built up. I think for the price, this is a really good little gem to have in your make up bag.

Global Fusion Eye Pot
This has got to be my favourite out of everything I bought. It's SO pigmented. It looks amazing on and blends really nicely too. The colour pay off is insane, and it's really easy to create a bold look. I used it for the first time on my birthday night out because the shade I got went perfectly with my dress, and I was really happy with how it turned out. I just put it all over my lid, then used a fluffy brush to blend it into my transition shade and then put a darker colour in the outer corner of my eye and into the crease.I was really happy with how this turned out, here are some pics below.

Have you tried the H&M Beauty Range yet? What did you think?

  2. These look seriously impressive! I'm not sure if any of my local H&Ms have much of the range in store but we've got a huge new one opening soon, hopefully they'll have a decent selection to choose from x

  4. I spent so long in H&M last week trying to pick which shade of the eye pots to get but I am definitely going back for this beautiful colour. I wish my local store stocked the molten eye pen :(
